Nozakimairi is a well-known event in Daito, Osaka, held at Jigenji Temple (commonly called Nozaki Kannon). Over 200 street stalls line the approach to the temple, and various events are held in the temple grounds each day, drawing large crowds. In the past, this pilgrimage was popular because people could visit easily by yakatabune (roofed pleasure boat) from within Osaka city, and it was familiar to many people. A special highlight during the period is that the Eleven-Faced Kannon Standing Statue, a Daito city-designated cultural property normally kept inside the main hall, can be viewed directly for worship with the bamboo blind raised.
