The Mythical Takachiho Night Kagura Festival will be held at Takachiho Shrine in Takachiho, Miyazaki Prefecture, on November 22 and 23, 2024. Using the kagura hall at Takachiho Shrine as the venue, the festival presents the thirty-three programs of night kagura over two days, and admission is free. The eve festival runs from about 18:00 to 22:00 on the 22nd, and the main festival from about 10:00 to 22:00 on the 23rd. Visitors can take their time watching the thirty-three programs of night kagura, and since entry and exit are unrestricted, they can experience Takachiho's kagura culture according to the time of their visit.

Getting there

Held at Takachiho Shrine (Takachiho, Nishiusuki District, Miyazaki Prefecture). There is no nearest station. By bus: about 1 hour 30 minutes from JR Nobeoka Station, get off at Takachiho Bus Center and walk about 15 minutes. By car: about 2 hours from Matsuhashi IC on the Kyushu Expressway, or about 1 hour from Nobeoka IC. Parking available.
