This is the autumn grand festival (rei-sai, the annual festival) held over two days each September at Amanoiwato Shrine in Takachiho, Miyazaki Prefecture. With the Higashi Hongu and Nishi Hongu as its venues, it is the autumn festival held annually at the shrine, and includes shrine rituals such as the rei-sai ceremony and the Gosai-i Festival (a procession of the deity). On the first day, September 22, the rei-sai ceremony is held at the Higashi Hongu from 11:00, and in the afternoon the Amanoiwato Kagura is offered at the kagura hall of the Nishi Hongu. On the following day, the 23rd, the kagura offering continues through the morning, and the Gosai-i Festival is scheduled from 14:00. In case of stormy weather, the Gosai-i Festival is cancelled and the kagura offering is held instead.
