Setsubun-e Hadaka Matsuri is a naked festival held at Hoko-in in Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture. It is an event for good fortune and warding off evil, including prayers for health, held every year on February 3, the day of Setsubun. Men reaching an unlucky age wear a six-shaku fundoshi (loincloth) inscribed with "Hoko-in Hadaka Matsuri" and cross a river to cast off their misfortune.
Getting there
15 minutes on foot from Tomoe Station on the Yoro Railway Yoro Line. Get off at the "Noguchi (Hoko-in)" bus stop on the Meihan Kintetsu Bus Ogaki-Noguchi Line.
