Fujimori no Taasobi is held annually on March 17 at Oi Hachimangu Shrine in Yaizu, Shizuoka Prefecture, and is a traditional rite designated as a nationally protected intangible folk cultural property. It is said to have begun as an offering to pray for flood control on the Oi River and for a good harvest, and it has a history of over 1,000 years. The event runs from 6:00 p.m. to around 11:00 p.m., during which 25 program pieces depicting agricultural work from rice planting to harvesting, along with an extra dance, are offered, allowing visitors to see folk performing arts passed down since ancient times.
Getting there
The nearest bus stop is Shizutetsu Just Line's Tomato Pia-mae, about a 15-minute walk away. There is no parking lot, so use public transportation.
