The Tsukigata Summer Festival is held every year in July at a specially set up venue in Minraku Park in Tsukigata Town, Kabato District, Hokkaido. Organized by the Tsukigata Event Committee, the festival reaches its 38th edition in 2025 and is a familiar part of the region's summer, running from 11:00 to 21:00. The main event is a fireworks display from 20:00 to 21:00, with about 3,000 fireworks launched. The powerful show, viewable from right near the launch site, is highly popular every year, and last year about 20,000 people attended. Paid special viewing seats are also available, and the venue has about 200 free parking spaces. Access to the venue is easy, about 60 minutes from Sapporo via National Route 275, making it convenient to visit from various parts of Hokkaido. In case of bad weather, the fireworks display is postponed to the following day, July 27.
