The "Ohinagee" held in Kawarasawa Hinata, Ogano Town, Saitama Prefecture, is a Peach Festival event observed one month late, in accordance with the old lunar calendar. It is designated as a nationally selected intangible folk cultural property, and the longstanding custom is to build a stone-piled encampment on the riverbed, display hina dolls, and eat rice porridge. The name is written in kanji as "Ohinagayu" (ohina porridge), deriving from the local dialect word "kee" for porridge. It was originally a traditional event held every year on April 3, but it is currently suspended.
