The Takikawa Nanohana Festival is held in spring on the canola flower fields spread across the hilly area of Takikawa City, Hokkaido. Organized by an executive committee, it is an event for enjoying the spectacle of canola flowers carefully grown by local farmers. Takikawa City is a canola flower producing area, and the official website presents "Takikawa Nanohana Monogatari," introducing the process by which the canola flowers are harvested and turned into canola oil. The highlight is the yellow flower fields coloring the entire hilly area, with viewing centered on a specially set up canola flower field venue. For access, there are canola flower buses and canola flower taxis in operation, but there is no parking lot around the fields and roadside parking is prohibited, so viewing from inside a vehicle or from public transportation is recommended. To protect the crops, please refrain from entering the fields or footpaths, and enjoy the event while following the rules.
