Engakuji Temple in Yamanouchi, Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture, holds this festival jointly with Enoshima Shrine in Fujisawa City to celebrate the successful casting of the "Koshin," a National Treasure bell made in 1301 (the 3rd year of Shoan). It is held once every 60 years on the kanoe-ne (Metal-Rat) cycle. Mikoshi (portable shrines) and menkake processions parade along the road in front of the temple gate.
