The Nemuro Sanma Festival, held in autumn at the special venue at Nemuro Port, is a food event representing Nemuro, which boasts the largest saury catch in Japan. Organized by the Nemuro Sanma Festival Sponsorship Association secretariat, it is a local favorite now in its 33rd edition. Visitors can enjoy autumn flavors, including fatty Nemuro-produced "toro sanma" (fatty saury). The main attraction at the venue is the "Ganpe Robata Corner," where you can eat saury grilled fresh over charcoal. The fragrant smoke and aroma of saury draw in visitors, and the area bustles with crowds. There is also a "box sale" direct sales event for fresh saury and a "local products festival" with local specialties, while the stage features YOSAKOI dance performances and song shows. It is a festival that enlivens autumn in Nemuro with food and entertainment.

To the Nemuro Port special venue (5-chome, Honcho, Nemuro, Hokkaido), about 15 minutes on foot from JR Nemuro Station. By car, about 5 minutes from central Nemuro. Temporary parking available.
