The Kure Minato Festival is held every year in Kure, Hiroshima Prefecture, and is organized by the Kure Matsuri Association as the city's largest event. In 2026 it will take place on April 29, marking its 69th edition. The venue is around City Hall, about a 10-minute walk from JR Kure Station, where residents and visitors gather in the plaza and on the streets to enjoy the liveliness of a port town. The main attraction is a large parade in which about 2,000 people march. The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Kure Band and various dance groups parade from in front of Kure City Hall along Kuramoto-dori, Center-dori, and Renga-dori. Also, former Carp legend Yoshihiko Takahashi and former Carp player Ren Nakata will take part in the parade as special guests. At the venue, food stalls line Kuramoto-dori, where local Kure dishes can be enjoyed. Stage events such as dance and music are held at the special stage at Kure City Hall and the Kure Shinkin Bank Hall stage, and a yacht race is also held in Yoshiura Bay. A variety of programs unfold throughout the day.
