The Kawagoe Hyakumanto Natsu Matsuri is a summer festival held in Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture, from around Hon-Kawagoe Station to the Shibanotsuji intersection. Organized by the Kawagoe Hyakumanto Natsu Matsuri Executive Committee, it is easy to reach, about a 2-minute walk from Hon-Kawagoe Station on the Seibu Shinjuku Line, and is put on with the cooperation of local shopping streets and organizations. It is a long-cherished event, now in its 44th and 45th editions, and has grown in scale year by year; in 2026 it will be held over two days, July 25 and 26. Events that reflect the area's history are also held, such as a demonstration by the Kawagoe Domain Matchlock Gun Corps Preservation Society. At the venue, visitors can enjoy a period costume procession connected to Kawagoe, an ohayashi (festival music) competition, and dance events such as Oh! Toryanse KAWAGOE, along with a variety of other attractions in each shopping street, including kura-machi piano performances, dance, food stalls, and hayashi accompaniment. The custom of uchisui (sprinkling water on the streets) also adds to the summer atmosphere.
