A tsuke-matsuri event held during the annual festival of Imamiya Shrine, in which hayashi yatai (festival floats) adorned with elaborate carvings parade through the streets. Commonly known as the Kanuma Autumn Festival, it is registered as a nationally designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property and as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Getting there
The nearest station is Kanuma Station on the Tobu Nikko Line. About 20 minutes on foot. Alternatively, from JR Kanuma Station take a bus and get off at Imamiya-cho, then about 5 minutes on foot.
