The Iizumi Kannon Daruma Market is held every year on December 17 and 18 at Iizumisan Shofuku Temple (Iizumi Kannon) in Odawara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and is known as the earliest daruma market in the Kanto region. Within the temple grounds, stalls selling daruma and kumade (decorative rakes) and other lucky charms line up, bustling with families praying for business prosperity and household safety. The temple has a history as the fifth stop on the Bando Sanjusan Kannon pilgrimage, founded by Minamoto no Yoritomo in the early Kamakura period based on prayers for peace that flourished after the Genpei War. Opening hours are from 10:00 to around 21:00 on the 17th, and from 9:00 to around 13:00 on the 18th. In addition to lucky charm stalls, food stalls will also be set up.
