🏮 Shinomiya Matsuri
四宮祭り
Kyoto (徳林庵) · Dates to be confirmed
The Shinomiya Matsuri (Shinomiya Jizo Matsuri) is held every year on August 22 and 23 in Yamashina, Kyoto, during Jizo-bon, at Tokurin-an, the Yamashina Jizo temple that is one of the stops on the Rokujizo pilgrimage. With a history of about 800 years, this festival is deeply rooted in the local community as a Yamashina annual event that carries on the long-inherited tradition of the Rokujizo pilgrimage. Held over both days, it welcomes visitors as a seasonal sight long familiar in Yamashina during the Jizo-bon period.
