The Seimei Shrine Reitai-sai is an autumn festival held at Seimei Shrine in Kyoto on the autumnal equinox and the evening before. It is the most important ritual at the shrine, which enshrines Abe no Seimei, and takes place at the shrine, accessible from the city bus stop Ichijo Modoribashi / Seimei Shrine-mae. At the Yoimiya-sai on the eve, an omukae chōchin procession and yudate kagura are offered. At the Shinkō-sai on the day of the main festival, a procession of about 500 people led by a boys' drum and fife band, followed by hoko, yaotome, and a mikoshi (portable shrine), parades through the Nishijin area, an important event that displays the region's traditions.
