🏮 Owari Tsushima Autumn Festival
尾張津島秋まつり
Tsushima, Aichi (Tsushima Shrine) · Every year on the 1st Sunday of October and the preceding Saturday
20 days to go
Rooms around Tsushima, Aichi fill up while the festival is on.
This festival began in 1926 (Taisho 15) when Tsushima Shrine was elevated from a prefectural shrine to a national small shrine, and the four festivals previously held within present-day Tsushima City were combined as a celebration. There are 16 floats, all of which carry mechanical puppets.
Getting there
Get off at Tsushima Station on the Meitetsu Bisai Line, about a 10-minute walk. If driving, there is little parking, so public transportation is recommended.
