Omabihiko Shrine Toshikoshi Mairi is a New Year's Eve event held at Omabihiko Shrine, the ichinomiya of Awa Province, in Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture. From New Year's Eve through New Year's Day, many worshippers purify themselves of the past year's impurities and pray for good health in the coming year. The shrine enforces traffic restrictions on surrounding roads from 10:00 p.m. on December 31 until 6:00 p.m. on January 5, with thorough safety measures in place.
