This is the annual festival of Kumakabuto Arakashihiko Shrine, held every year on September 20, which is why it is also called the Hatsuka Festival. It is designated a national Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property as the "Kumakabuto Hatsuka Festival Framed Banner Event," in which a mikoshi (portable shrine) accompanied by deep red large framed banners up to 20 meters tall parades through the area.

To Kumakabuto Arakashihiko Shrine (Kumakabuto Shrine) in Noto-Nakajima, go by car or bus. The nearest station is Nakajima Station on the Nanao Line, about a 20-minute walk away.
