At Enzoji Temple (Fukuman Kokuzo Bosatsu) in Yanaizu, Fukushima Prefecture, the Nanakado Hadaka Mairi is held every year on the night of January 7. A New Year tradition, the festival is held to pray for happiness and good health throughout the year, and is known for the sight of men in loincloths bravely taking part in the freezing cold. This unusual festival has a history of more than 1000 years. At the sound of the bell, participants run up 113 stone steps, purify themselves with cold water, and then climb a single 5-meter rope toward the great waniguchi (metal gong) said to grant wishes. In 2025, 170 people took part, and the event unfolded with powerful prayers in the freezing air.

It is held at Fukuman Kokuzo Bosatsu Enzoji Temple in Yanaizu. The nearest station is Yanaizu Station on the JR Tadami Line, about a 20-minute walk away.
