This is the annual festival of Kumano Wakamiya Shrine in Tainai, Niigata Prefecture, held every year from September 3 to September 6. About 200 stalls line the area from Honmachi-dori to the grounds of Kumano Wakamiya Shrine, and events such as dashi (festival float) taunting matches, daiwa (wheeled float) processions, and minyo nagashi (folk song parades) take place.
