The Itoigawa Omanta Festival is held in summer in Itoigawa, Niigata Prefecture, and has continued since 1975 as a traditional event loved as a fixture of the city's summer. It is organized by the Itoigawa Omanta Festival Executive Committee, and local groups such as the Omanta Hayashi Preservation Society are also involved, so events that value local culture continue. In 2026 it will reach its 50th edition, having colored Itoigawa's summers for half a century. The official website's "Looking Back at the Festival" section features past photographs, allowing visitors to trace its history. On the day, a varied program blending tradition and entertainment unfolds, including powerful performances by Shintetsu Shionomichi Taiko and an appearance by Niigata Pro Wrestling.
