A festival held in Shibata City, Niigata Prefecture, every year from August 27 to 29. It began as the festival of Shibata Suwa Shrine, which dates back to the Edo period. Its notable features are the dedication of Shibata daiwa (large festival floats) and the kaeri daiwa (also called kenka daiwa).

Getting there

About 5 minutes on foot from Shibata Station on the JR Uetsu Main Line. About 10 minutes by car from the Seiro Shibata Interchange on the Nihonkai-Tohoku Expressway.
