A rite at Owari Okunitama Shrine (Konomiya) in which one man called the shin-oto (nayoinin) is made to bear calamities and impurities, which are then transferred to rice cakes called dobei and buried in the ground to rid oneself of misfortune. This is the common name for the Naoido Shinji ritual.

Getting there

The nearest station is Konomiya on the Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line, about a 5-minute walk away. By car, about 30 minutes from the Nagoya IC on the Higashi-Meihan Expressway. Temporary parking is available nearby.
