The Kiryu Yagibushi Festival is held every August and originated from the Kiryu Gion Festival, taking place mainly around Honmachi-dori and other areas. It began in 1964 as a composite festival event, and by fully featuring Yagibushi dancing, it grew into one of the largest summer festivals in the northern Kanto region, drawing about 500,000 visitors.
