In Fujioka, Gunma Prefecture, the Sakurayama Festival is held every year in early December at Sakurayama Park. Organized by the Fujioka City Tourism Association, the festival celebrates the 7,000 winter cherry trees that bloom in the park. It is also a time when both the winter cherry blossoms and autumn leaves can be enjoyed, and the seasonal collaboration created by nature welcomes visitors. At the Third Plaza of Sakurayama Park, the festival venue, the opening ceremony is held from 10:30 a.m. A song show by Masayuki Yuhara, Fujioka City Tourism Ambassador, is held in two parts, from 11:00 a.m. and from 1:00 p.m., adding color to the stage events celebrating the winter cherry blossoms.
