The Kenkamasai is a rite held every year on April 1 at the outer worship hall of Fushimi Inari Shrine in Kyoto. It is organized by Fushimi Inari Shrine, and a flower-offering ceremony conducted by the Ikenobo Kadokai takes place. There is no detailed record of its origin, but it has been passed down as an event blending Inari faith with the tradition of flower arranging. The highlight is the elegant flower offerings created by Ikenobo flower arrangers, held in a solemn atmosphere against the backdrop of spring's Inariyama. General worshippers may also attend, and can view the splendid flowers and the sacred space.
