The Kadō Festival is held every year in mid-April at Daikaku-ji Temple in Kyoto, a flower festival dedicated to the anniversary of Emperor Saga's death. Floral artists from various schools offer flowers beloved by Emperor Saga, commemorating the origins of ikebana. Splendid flowers are arranged within the temple grounds, and the atmosphere is festive.

Getting there

The nearest station is JR Sagano Line's Saga-Arashiyama Station, about a 15-minute walk, or Randen's Daikaku-ji Station, which is a short walk away. By car, about 30 minutes from the Meishin Expressway's Kyoto-minami Interchange; parking is available (paid).
