Hari Kuyo Daihoyo is a ceremony held every year on February 8 at Horinji Temple in Kyoto. It memorializes sewing needles used in daily life, offers thanks, and prays for improvement in skills. Horinji Temple is known as the "Needle Temple," and on this day a needle memorial service is held in the grounds, where needles are stuck into tofu or konnyaku. At the same time, it is also the monthly fair day for the Thirteen Visit, and many worshippers come.
