The Echigo-Yuzawa Onsen Snow Festival is held at the Nunoba ski slope of Yuzawa Kogen Ski Resort in Yuzawa Town, Niigata Prefecture, and is a winter event where candlelight glows in the snow. At the March 7, 2015 edition, the venue was crowded with many spectators. The festival highlights are events that convey the local traditions and energy, such as the powerful snow mikoshi (portable shrine) carried by the young men's group and the yuki-oroshi taiko drums performed by the town's children. On the day, Miss Komako was also presented, promoting the attractions of Yuzawa Town. The finale's torchlight descent and Yuzawa winter fireworks added color to the venue, drawing loud cheers from the spectators who came.

Getting there

The nearest station is Echigo-Yuzawa Station on the JR Joetsu Shinkansen and Joetsu Line. To the venue, the Nunoba ski slope of Yuzawa Kogen Ski Resort, it is about 5 minutes on foot or by taxi from the station.
