The Ube Festival is the largest festival in Ube City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, held in the area around Tokiwa-dori and Heiwa-dori. Organized by the Ube Festival Executive Committee, it will take place on November 2, 2025. It began as the "Tanko Festival" to commemorate the city's incorporation in 1934, and it is a festival that continues to convey the coal culture that is the foundation of Ube's history. The parade, centered on dances performed to coal miners' work songs and the "Nanban Ondo," has become established as a symbol of the city's pride. On the day, in addition to the Nanban Ondo parade, there will be a Yosakoi parade, a citizens' festival parade, a yamaboko (festival float) parade, and more. On the main stage, performances such as Ube Taiko drumming and citizen stage performances will be presented. There will also be a food, merchandise, and hands-on "Ube Marche," as well as a diverse vendor zone featuring campus square, the transportation bureau, the fire department, and others, offering a variety of events to enjoy.
