The Matsuyama Spring Festival (Oshiro Matsuri), organized by the Matsuyama Junior Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is one of Ehime Prefecture's largest spring festivals and has been held since 1967. In 2026, it will take place over two days, April 4 and 5, around Shiroyama Park and Horinouchi. The Daimyo Warrior Procession, the core of the festival, features citizens dressed as princesses, castle lords, and daimyo warriors parading through the streets, offering a sense of Matsuyama's castle town history. In recent years, Seiko Kitagawa has taken on the role of general producer, working on staging that can be enjoyed across generations and nationalities, as well as multilingual information distribution. The venue also hosts a citizens' parade, a food festival, snag golf, a tuna filleting show, and many other events at the same time, making for two days that blend the region's history and culture with contemporary entertainment.
