Jingu Kagura-sai is a spring festival held at Ise Jingu (Naiku) in Ise City, Mie Prefecture. It is held to give thanks for divine blessings and to pray for the peace of the nation, and features dedicatory performances such as maibayashi and nogaku by distinguished schools and families from across the country. On the first day, kagura is performed at the kagura-den of both Geku and Naiku, and the highlight is bugaku performed on a specially built stage in the Naiku shin-en garden. In case of rain, it is moved to the Naiku Sansai-den stage.
