The Ise Ebi Festival is held in Shima, Mie Prefecture, to give thanks for spiny lobster and pray for a good catch. It began in 1961, and features a mikoshi (portable shrine), a parade, and the Jakoppe Odori dance.

Getting there

From Ugata Station on the Kintetsu Shima Line, take a Mie Kotsu bus bound for Shukuura, get off at Hamajima, and walk 15 minutes.
