A folk performing art and festival handed down in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture (formerly Kagawa Town), held at Ikonomiya Shrine. Its mikoshi (portable shrine) procession is well known; the attendant samurai paint their faces with bright makeup and wear costumes made from feed sacks and palm fiber.
