This event is dedicated to Koinari Shrine, the tutelary deity of Hanawa, and features ten gorgeously decorated yatai (festival floats) parading through the town all night to the accompaniment of hayashi music. It is counted among Japan's three great hayashi festivals, and is registered as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan and as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Nearest station: JR Hanawa Line, Kazuno-Hanawa Station. By car: about 3 km (about 5 minutes) from Kazuno-Hachimantai IC on the Tohoku Expressway to central Hanawa.
