Hanatori Odori is a traditional event passed down in Sakawa Town, Kochi Prefecture. Held every year in the center of Sakawa Town, it is a festival praying for the town's freedom from illness and a bountiful harvest. A distinguishing feature is the sight of dancers holding beautiful flower hats and dancing to a unique rhythm, and the whole town is wrapped in a festive atmosphere.
Getting there
About 10 minutes by car from Kochi Station on the JR Dosan Line and Tosa Kuroshio Railway, or from Kochi Station take a Tosaden Kotsu tram, get off at Harimayabashi, and walk about 10 minutes.
