The Hagi Tsubaki Festival is held annually from mid-February to late March at the Kasayama Tsubaki Grove in Togashima, Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. About 25,000 yabutsubaki (wild camellias) grow in a roughly 10-hectare site, and it is known as a spring event timed to the flowers' peak bloom. The contrast between the vivid flowers blooming high in the trees and the fallen camellias that carpet the ground in red is a highlight unique to this area. On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays during the period, a free shuttle bus runs between the Koshigahama municipal parking lot and the venue. At the venue, there are free guides by camellia viewing guides, hospitality by Hagi Tsubaki Komachi, camellia seedling sales, stage events, and a quiz rally. Admission is free.
