A traditional event in Iwate Prefecture in which farm horses dressed in colorful trappings parade about 14 km from Onikoshi Sozen Shrine in Takizawa to Morioka Hachimangu Shrine in Morioka, held annually on the second Saturday of June.

Getting there

About 15 minutes by Iwate Kenkotsu bus from Morioka Station front (east exit bus terminal), get off at Babacho or Hachimangu-mae. By car, about 15 minutes from Morioka IC on the Tohoku Expressway; there is no free parking. On the day of the event, surrounding roads are subject to traffic restrictions, so use of public transportation is recommended.
