The Ichijima Kawazoko Matsuri is a kawazoko (riverside) festival held every year on July 29 in Ichijima, Ichijima-cho, Tanba, Hyogo Prefecture. The area around the Takeda River, a tributary of the Yura River, serves as the venue, and several similar kawazoko festivals are held elsewhere in Tanba, including the original one in Hongo, Hikami-cho. The main events of the festival are the mando-nagashi, in which mando (lanterns) are floated down the Takeda River, and a fireworks display of about 750 rounds. The fireworks include a Niagara, and events such as goldfish scooping can also be seen at the venue, coloring the summer nights along the Takeda River.
